team. We specialize in the integration of renewable and distributed energy resources, automated generator/power
control systems, Smart Grid, and Microgrid technologies. The company is currently recruiting multiple candidates
with experience in the sales of Turnkey Solutions in Energy Management, Alternate Energy Generation, Storage,
Distributed Energy Generation (Microgrid), Critical Power and Generator Control turnkey solutions to communities
and facilities like airports, office parks, hospitals, universities, data centers for the position of Sales Engineers.
Description:
We’re looking for young and seasoned sales professionals with a proven track record and 2 years of experience who
want to grow their career and expand their income potential. No limits on financial and professional growth. Would
be responsible for the sale of SSET offerings and promote SSET value proposition to facility owners by providing
technical solutions and operational expertise and be responsible for customer satisfaction. This position provides
an exciting opportunity to be part of our Sales Department selling energy management, alternate energy, power
control and distributed generation (Microgrid) solutions to executives of commercial, institutional, industrial and
governmental customers making their facilities energy efficient, secure and sustainable. We serve a number of
verticals, education, state and local government, healthcare, financial, commercial and military. Engineering service
industry experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
Candidates should have or be able to develop and maintain contact lists with architects, consulting engineers,
specification writers, building owners and contractors, to promote company services. An ongoing focus on
prospecting directly to new end-users is also a must. This position requires technical and financial expertise to
effectively and independently estimate and sell SSET’s solutions and services. Size of sales assignment will vary
based on experience of sales individual, however general annual booking volume range is between $2M-$3M.
Customer relationships at this level are primarily executive level and long-term relationship oriented.
These positions will report to the President in the Brentwood, TN office. (Near Nashville)
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes the sales process to cultivate and manage long-term relationships in seeking out, qualifying and closing new sales opportunities.
- Proactively seek new opportunities with new and existing customers to acquire new accounts.
- Utilizes sales tools to plan and document progress as well as increase business opportunities at accounts.
- Under limited supervision, manage and grow assigned territory or group of accounts.
- Grows the territory by cold calling, solution selling, and closing new business.
- Obtains and closes sales on a monthly basis while achieving booking and gross margin goals.
- Effectively performs needs assessments, develop sales proposals, estimates, specifications and presentations.
- Works with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources as needed to obtain the sale.
- Ensures a smooth sales to operations handoff and monitors progress.
- Assists in resolving installation, collections and other customer satisfaction issues as needed.
- Assists customers and potential customers with problems involving the use of company services and recommends suitable resolutions accordingly.
- Prepares accurate and thorough sales activity reports, forecast reports and expense tracking.
- Evaluates open quotes or proposals weekly and expedites and follows up on all back orders.
- Participates in civic and professional organizations, and sales department meetings, workshops and seminars
- Keeps current on market business and trends while continuing to pursue in-depth product and service knowledge and acquire deeper selling, technical and financial skills.
- Develop new and current customer accounts by marketing company product lines and offering value
added services and availability information to incoming callers.
- Maintains current customer information including sales contracts, bonded inventory
requirements, contract terms and other pertinent account details.
- Manages the activity of the sales pipeline with a focus on sales phase, close date, and
probability of close, as well as, other pertinent information.
- Knowledge of contract documents and ability to clearly understand specifications.
- Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements.
- Ability to work and contribute as an effective team player in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
- Developed interpersonal skills with an ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers of
various technical abilities, including experience working with contractors, consultants, and sales staff as required.
- Ability to self-manage, multi-task and learn new skills quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a similar field with minimum two years of related work
experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, Visio, Human Machine Interfaces and sales management tools.
Experience Required:
- Must have 2 or more years of experience in outside sales or business to business sales.
- Must have a successful background in cold-calling and appointment scheduling.
- Must possess an awareness of business developments and trends in the area.
- Ability to connect with people in order to build rapport.
- Good communication skills, ability to work effectively in a group setting, team oriented,
self-motivated, and results driven.
Specific Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in power distribution, control/automation (SCADA), metering/monitoring and
software applications as it pertains to the Electrical industry. Experience with Programmable Logic
controllers (PLC), switchgear, circuit breakers, drives, transformers, metering hardware and software.
- Experience in laying out Network communications architecture, topologies, and hardware
Travel:
Must be willing and able to travel throughout your area on a regular basis to meet with customers or prospective customers.
